About the Area
Sapphire Coast
The beautiful Sapphire Coast stretches from Wallaga Lake and Bermagui to Wonboyn Lake just north of the Victorian border.
The area remains an untouched paradise of the South Coast. The Sapphire Coast is characterised by beaches of white shimmering sand that drift on endlessly, by ribbons of sparkling aquamarine waters that thread into shades of deeper blue, by wooded mountains, rolling farmland and rich Aboriginal history.
Townships are tucked along the breathtaking coast line, seemingly poised to take best advantage of stunning vistas.
Bermagui in the north and Eden in the south are a fisherman's dream. Whale watching is a popular attraction with many while others are content to discover a secluded beach.
Merimbula is a picturesque township that appeals to many. From surf beaches to quiet lakes, golf courses where your partner is often local wildlife, fine dining and boutique shopping, to adventure sports - Merimbula offers it all.
Pambula Beach and Tura Beach both lie a within minutes drive either side of Merimbula. Pambula Beach is a popular destination for family holidays while Tura Beach offers close access to Bournda, Tathra and many Natural Parks.
