Pambula Beach is one of the safest swimming beaches in the region. It is patroled from late October through to late April with life guards from Pambula Surf Life Saving Club on weekends and public holidays. It is also patrolled during the busy Christmas holiday period by council life guards. The beach is also dog friendly during certain times.
The Pambula River mouth is an area of Pambula River that opens to the sea. The area has a nice flat beach area, with access to shallow flat water which is perfect for children to swim at, as well as kayaking and other water activities. There is also a small playground and grassed area which is great for family picnics. You can walk along the banks of the river and enjoy your own piece of paradise next to one of the old bathing sheds.
Lions Beach is a small ocean beach between Pambula Beach and the river mouth. There is easy access to the beach with carparking, as well as a BBQ area which is suitable for picnics. Lions Beach often gets a good swell for surfing but is not patrolled.
